Diversity, equity, and inclusion (dei) Grants
DEI Innovator Grants
The DEI Innovator Grants are grant funds to support projects, events, and activities that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within academic neurology departments or the communities they serve. These grants are designed for those with new, untested, and innovative approaches to fostering DEI. This grant is designed for applicants with little or no prior experience in implementing DEI-related projects. Students, residents, fellows, and early career faculty are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience is not necessary, and we encourage those with little to no experience to apply. Awardees will have the opportunity to share their ideas and bring in collaborations with diversity officers and other institutions.
Selected applicants will be able to pitch their ideas in a virtual meeting to the Diversity Officers Subcommittee. Subcommittee members will ask questions, provide feedback, offer ideas, and may offer to assist with, collaborate with, or fund proposals.

The information provided comes from the Diversity Officer Subcommittee, which was created in 2021, reports to the Academic Neurology Committee, and is charged with identifying the goals and objectives of diversity advocates in academic neurology departments, revealing gaps in support and critical obstacles that challenge these individuals, and helping to develop the tools and strategies that can be employed to overcome these challenges.
