Measure Calculation Example
Dr. Silva sees 100 patients between January 1 and December 31 aged 18 years and older diagnosed with medically refractory ET. This is the denominator.
Three patients declined to discuss surgical treatment options, six patients were currently receiving care at a movement disorder center, and five patients previously received surgical treatment for ET. These 14 (3+6+5) patients are removed from the denominator as they meet exclusion criteria.
Of the 86 patients that qualify for this measure, 27 had documentation of a discussion about surgical treatment option in the year. This is the numerator.
Quality of patient care = 27/(100-14). Dr. Silva has a score of 31.4% for this measure.
