Measure Purpose: To ensure safe driving for patients with seizures and dementia
The numerator: Patients for whom there was a conversation documented about driving risks at least once every 24 months.

The denominator: All patients aged 14 years of age and older with a diagnosis of seizures or dementia.
Exclusions:
- Provider documents patient's neurological condition is adequately controlled and does not have symptoms that warrant discussion
- Another provider has documented this discussion in the measurement period
- Patients that don't drive or no longer drive
- Patient refuses

Measure Calculation Example
Dr. Ferrari saw 50 patients with seizures and 50 patients with dementia that were over the age of 14 between January 1 and December 31. This is the denominator. Seven of those patients were no longer driving. These patients are removed from the denominator.
Of the remaining 93 patients, 29 had a discussion about driving risks. This is the numerator.
Quality of care =29/(100-7). Dr. Ferrari has a score of 31% for this measure.
