Early Career Leadership Subcommittee
The charge of this subcommittee is to oversee the early career leadership development programs and offerings, ensure cohesion among them, and support the educators who cultivate these early career leaders. The Early Career Leadership Subcommittee will also focus on identifying and addressing further leadership development skills gaps for neurologists less than seven years out of their residency.

Job Description
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Emerging Leaders Program, Enhanced Resident Program and Director Mentorship Program, and other new offerings.
- Support the leadership development needs of early career neurologists (less than seven years out of residency) and their educators.
- Attend four subcommittee meetings each year.
- Participate in conference calls with other subcommittee members on relevant issues as they arise throughout the year.
- Serve on ad hoc work groups as assigned.
- Review program application criteria and selection process and make recommendations for improvement.
- Grade applications using the online grading system.
Selection/Appointment
Members are appointed by the AAN President Elect and can serve a maximum of three two-year terms.
Meeting Schedule
- January or February – Review charge and vision for the year (as needed)
- May - Review ERLP feedback, etc.
- August - Review and approve ELP, ERLP, and DM timeline, application, eligibility criteria, grading rubric, and selection work group roster
- November - Review LDC Oct meeting outcomes and determine next steps, review ELP pre- and post-assessment report
Estimated Time Commitment
Quarterly meetings and conference calls as needed.

- Enhanced Resident Leadership Program Physician Liaison
- Director Mentorship Program Physician Liaison
- Emerging Leaders Program Physician Liaison
- Additional members assigned at large
