Graduate Education Subcommittee
The Graduate Education Subcommittee (GES) develops recommendations for policies and activities related to graduate medical education and is charged with monitoring residency and fellowship training programs in neurology and making suggestions for improvement.

Job Description
- Attend two meetings each year.
- Participate in conference calls with other subcommittee members on relevant issues as they arise throughout the year.
- Serve on ad hoc work groups as assigned.
- Have regular communication with the ACGME Neurology Review Committee (NRC), the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), and the Association for University Professors of Neurology (AUPN) on various issues as they arise.
- Oversee neurology education programs such as the Resident and Fellow Scholarship Program, Faculty and Trainee Networking Reception, Clerkship, and Program Directors Conference, Program Directors Business Meeting, etc., and other new offerings.
- Oversee neurology tools and resources such as the Fellowship Directory, Program Director webpage, etc., and other new offerings.
- Support the needs of residents and fellows via the Consortium of Residents & Fellows and their activities.
- Support the needs of the program, clerkship, and fellowship coordinators via the Consortium of Neurology Program Directors and their activities.
- Support the needs of the program directors and fellowship directors via the Consortium of Neurology Program Directors and their activities.
- Oversees the policies and performance of the Residency In-service Training Examination (RITE).

Meeting Schedule
- Spring meeting to review the status of subcommittee projects (90 minutes - virtual)
- Fall meeting to review the status of subcommittee projects (full day - in person)
Estimated Time Commitment
Two to three hours per month plus meetings and conference calls as needed.
Committee Composition
The Subcommittee is comprised of 15 voting members, including the following:
- 7-8 program and fellowship directors
- Child Program Director
- Chair of the CNPD
- One to two residents
- Chair of the CNRF
- RITE Advisory Panel Chair
- Chair of the CNEC
