Exclusions are removed from the denominator for:
- Patient cannot tolerate the testing
- MD phenotype is not associated with cardiac complications
- Patient or caregiver decline
- Test not available at the site
- Insureance does not cover evaluation

Measure Calculation Example
Dr. Nadeau has ten patients with muscular dystrophy between January 1 and December 31 of the measurement year. This is the denominator. One patient declines the evaluation and one patient does not have the appropriate MD phenotype for this evaluation. These patients are removed from the denominator.
Of the remaining eight patients, five had a cardiac status evaluation ordered. This is the numerator.
Quality of care = 5/(10-2). Dr. Nadeau has a score of 62% for this measure.
