Measure Purpose: Improve quality of life
The numerator: Number of days during the past 3 months, as categorized* by patients or their caregivers, that they are unable to perform common daily activities (e.g., school, work, household chores, social activities, Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADS), etc.) due to migraine headache or cervicogenic headache

The denominator: All patients age 6 years old and older who have a diagnosis of migraine headache or cervicogenic headache
Exclusions are removed from the denominator for:
- Patient has cognitive or neuropsychiatric impairment that impairs his/her ability to complete the survey
- Patient has the inability to read and/or write in order to complete the questionnaire
- Patient does not have insurance to cover the cost of the quality of life assessment

Measure Calculation Example
Dr. Murray had 60 patients with migraine headache and ten with cervicogenic headache from January 1 to December 31 of the measurement year. This is the denominator. Five of them had cognitive impairment and one was not able to read/write. These patients are removed from the denominator.
Of the remaining 54 patients, 19 had their headache disability categorized. This is the numerator.
Quality of care = 19/(60-6). Dr. Murray has a score of 35% for this measure.
