Step outside of a traditional classroom and into the world of hubs, an out-of-the-box learning format offering unique education and networking. Hubs are more than a conventional lecture; they are creative programs that leave participants with take-home skills and resources that transfer to their patients and careers.

Academic Hub
Offers programming geared toward academic neurology departments, from department chairs to professors to medical students. Connect with fellow participants at networking tables, celebrate the AAN Changemaker Award, and more. Topics and themes include:
- Navigating an academic career
- Handling difficult conversations with leaders or staff
- Issues facing international medical graduates
HeadTalks
Originally inspired by TED Talks, HeadTalks is not tied to a specific theme. Participants can expect unconventional programming in a wide range of topics in bite-sized time frames and gamified formats. Unique topics and activities include:
- Talks about the neurology of illusions, comics, and becoming an influencer
- Neurology-themed game shows
- The Ultimate Fashion Experience showcasing neurology-inspired style
Innovation Hub
A place to explore and discover innovative ways to think about the brain, neurology practice, and patient care. Features a variety of talks, activities, and themes including:
- Presentations about board games, artificial intelligence, and more
- Other activities like virtual reality systems and vintage video game consoles
Leadership University
Solely dedicated to leadership development—and not to be confused with the AAN’s intensive leadership cohort programs—this hub offers an accessible way for anyone to learn strong leadership content. Topics include:
- Leadership fundamentals
- Leadership through Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Leading through the business of neurology
Practice and Policy Hub
Offers tools and resources on practice management, quality improvement, and advocacy. Talks include:
- Practice management support and sustainability
- Coding and reimbursement
- Telehealth practices
Research Hub
Provides an opportunity to recognize researchers at all career levels, share researcher support resources, and inspire attendees to start or continue their own research. Programming includes:
- Fireside chats to discuss the daily plenary topics
- Coffee Connects each morning
- Talks about moving your lab mid-career and advancing diversity in neurologic research
Trainee Hub
Offers tools for medical students, residents, and fellows to help them excel at each stage of their career. Activities and talks include:
- Navigating interviews and exploring different career paths
- Discussion and networking opportunities between sessions
- Neurology games, like Neuroradiology Clues! and Trainee Trivia
Wellness Hub
A one-stop shop for all things wellness at the Annual Meeting. Learn how to practice wellness in your career and rest and relax during the busy week. Activities include:
- Sessions on combating burnout, managing moral distress, and improving wellness throughout your career
- Dance classes
- Therapy dogs
- Yoga and guided meditation
